U.S. Based Terrorist Website Host 'Dreamworks' Knowingly Providing Services To Terrorist Organization (Updated)

Dreamhost, said by Jawa Report on May 23rd to be owned by "America hating terrorist supporting leftist" Josh Jones, is continuing to host the al-Qaeda affiliated website - Voice of Jihad, even though Dreamhost and Josh Jones (his blog is here...) now have full knowledge of this fact, having had numerous emails advising them that they are hosting a terrorist site.

Subject: U.S. based company hosting terrorist site.

As posted at Hyscience, Freedom's Zone, Jawa Report, and numerous other blogs:

Dreamhost, owned by American leftist Josh Jones, is continuing to host the al-Qaeda affiliated website - Voice of Jihad, even though Dreamhost and Josh Jones (his blog is here...) now have full knowledge of this fact, having had numerous emails advising them that they are providing material support to a foreign terrorist organization.

We request that action be taken to stop Dreamhost from providing material support or resources to a foreign terrorist organization.

Thanking you for your prompt action, in advance,

F**k off you scumbags.

After a blog post like this, you have no room to call anyone stupid.

meh...terrorists or fascists...what a choice! Actually, I think I'd rather deal with the terrorists! You "shut 'em down now!" idiots are more dangerous to freedom than any "terrorist website".

It's the law, it's not a freedom of speech issue; it sounds like the lefty trolls are out in force today. Dreamhost customers must be sniffing too much Afghan powder, again.

re. "It's the law, it's not a freedom of speech issue;" It happens to be a law that is in direct contradiction to the founding fathers' concept of freedom of speech, in much the same way that the "Patriot Act" is in direct conflict with basic common law principles and basic human rights. The law *can* abrogate freedom of speech, and when it does, it *is* a "freedom of speech issue".

That fact that a government, *any government*, legislates something to be a "law" has no bearing on whether or not is is morally right - and that has never been more true in American history than it is today.

"Lefty troll" - meh..A troll only speaks to inflame; only a fool could fail to see that my purpose is to present an opposing view. ;-)

Posted by: rlparker at May 27, 2007 4:18 PM

No problem on the opposing view; it's just that most reasonable, savvy, mature, experienced minds would recognize that we are at war, and while our sons, daughters, friends, etc... are in harms way, aiding and abetting the enemy is nothing less than despicable, and surely treasonous, and just happens to be unlawful. And your knowledge of history does seem a bit selective - in wars past, traitors have been shot for less. As far as the Patriot Act is concerned, if you fail to understand why we have it and why it is important in this war that has been forced upon us by the jihadists, than no amount of discussion is going to help you know otherwise. After we have won the war, we don't need it, now however, we do.

Other opinions aside, common sense should indeed stand far in front of personal views and politics. Unfortunately, too many left of center fail to understand that.

And by the way, my own son is in harms way, as we speak, and Dreamhost is aiding the jihadists who he and others like him are fighting for all of us at this very moment, as I and others have done against our enemies before him, and others before me.

But please, do go ahead and express your views. The Wahabis and Salafists at least, will surely agree with you, and will be lovin... every word.

Whether or not one views me as having a "reasonable, savvy, mature, experienced mind" is surely a matter of opinion. Having served in the Armed forces, and as a veteran, I'm perfectly capable of recognizing a state of war. That said, we primarily differ in what we consider to be "aiding and abetting", and, "despicable" or not, I believe that we do not serve our "sons, daughter, friends, etc." well by suspending the very freedoms they are fighting to preserve.

A broad understanding of history *is* important, and such an understanding makes it painfully obvious that governments are quick to label as "treasonous" a wide variety of activities, many of which also happen to be fundamental human rights, that happen to present difficulties when attempting to control a populace. Governments throughout history have executed their citizens for such "treasonous" activities, and will probably continue to do so. Neither that historical truth, nor the certainty of similar future activity, makes such action "right" in a moral sense.

You are correct that no amount of discussion will result in my accepting that the Patriot Act is either needed or was forced on us. I will grant that is is perceived to be "needed" by those who took us into this "war" (and I am not talking about jihadists, or terrorists, or other "un-American" boogey-men here, but rather a corrupt and self-serving administration). The free exercise of human rights by a population that is increasingly rejecting the premises under which this war was waged is of grave concern to those in power.

I completely reject any implied argument that power, once seized by an American government, will be readily relinquished because it is no longer perceived to be "necessary".

You are rightly concerned for the well-being of your son, and I completely understand and support your attempts to enhance his safety in every possible way. I *also* support him, and his brothers/sisters at arms, and am concerned for them even while I continue to believe that his well-being is ultimately best served by bringing him, and his compatriots, home - home to an America that still respects his human rights and is less concerned with what people say than it is with their right to say it.

I appreciate the civil manner in which you have engaged in this dialog and, as it is obvious *we* will continue to "agree to disagree" on the proper way to handle the "jihadist website", I'll refrain from further discussion of that on *your* website (there is a "best" forum for every discussion, and you have allowed me to have my say!).

Your son, and all those in harm's way, remain in my prayers daily. PAX

For the edification of rlparker and others who might not already know, this particular blog is owned by an international coalition of blogs that collectively, host "at risk" bloggers all over the world - anonymously and without charge, in order that they might express themselves without fear of persecution from their governments. Many of the blogs hosted by Freedom's Zone are Muslim-owned, many have different views than the site administrators, and many are under death threats in their own country from jihadists. All support freedom and democracy, and all condemn jihadists and those that support them (see Freedom's Zone mission statement).

We all just happen to also support the right of those that disagree with us to - disagree.

Personally, and speaking only for myself, I find it very frustrating that some Americans find it difficult to understand that Western civilization is indeed also at risk from the jihadists, as well as our own inability to recognize the threat and deal with it in unison, rather than some of us looking to America as being always at fault, or to blame an unpopular administration. Like it or not we are at war, the war is real, and the enemy is expert at manipulating our press and using our freedoms against us. It is because of this that I strongly believe that citizens who support al-Qaeda and by doing so helping to kill our men and women, need to be prevented from doing so if they are breaking our laws. Here in America we don't get to pick and choose which laws we will and will not obey. It just doesn't work that way - except of course for illegal aliens, which seem to be given their own set of laws that are in the eyes of our government - optional.

In closing, those who took us into this war are those who attacked us on 9/11. Make no mistake about it.

Successfully convincing American citizens to blame its elected government is exactly what al-Jazeera and its jihadists puppeteers continue to work long and hard for. To a great extent, this has been successful, so far. Unless this changes, we're in for a tougher fight than we'd otherwise have.

While few of us are happy with the way the war has been conducted, there should be no doubt in anyone's mind that has spent as much time in the Middle East as I have over the 25 years of conducting science and business there, the foundations of Wahabism and Salifism began long before 9/11, and we've been in denial of their outgrowth that is jihadism all through the 90s and ever since. Its development has been long and methodical, but its agenda has never changed from its beginnings - world domination of Islamism, and let non-Muslims and non-jihadist Muslims die or convert to radical Islam.

In other words, America's foreign policy and colonialism have got not a damned thing to do with why they hate us, and people like the owner(s) of Dreamhost that help the jihadists use our freedoms against us are allowing themselves to be used by the jihadists. We are not going to win this war by being nice and by failing to use our common sense. Strict libertarianism is nice, but it is getting us killed.

BTW, I have a lot of faith in American's ability to eventually come together and use our collective common sense to win this terrible war that will determine the shape of the Middle East for generations and the survival of Western civilization as we now know it; so I'm all too happy to participate in providing a forum for men of reason and common sense to air their differences. I just have this tiny little problem with people that support the people that are trying to kill all of us.

Thanks to all who comment civilly.

To my fellow Marines, Semper Fi and happy Memorial Day. God bless America and our troops, and of course, God bless the Marine Corps!

Thanks for the link Richard. You are correct. This is not just some guy expressing his opinion. Voice of Jihad is an al-Qaeda webiste. It is an instrument used by the enemy to spread propaganda and conduct the informational portion of their war. For that to be hosted on an American server is sick. Host it somehwhere else anywhere else.

Thanks for your input, Howie. What really frosts us is that we spend a lot of money at Freedom's Zone, hosting anti-jihadist Muslims' blogs and anti-terrorism non-Muslim blogs - all over the planet, in order to fight terrorism, while the moonbat at Dreamhost provides al-Qaeda a site and makes money doing so.
