* Murtha's district now is a possible pickup for the House GOP. Murtha won re-election with 58% of the vote in 2008. But John McCain narrowly carried the district over Barack Obama in a Democratic year.

He will always stand out in my mind as the former marine who sold out and posed for photo ops with a dozen pink roses given to him by members of Code Pink for opposing the War in Iraq. He is the one in Congress who said the marines of Haditha had killed civilians in cold blood – before the investigation was even finished. He was a disgrace.
