On Wednesday the Department of Energy began financing solar power installation research with a $2 million award to Solar Mosaic. The solar energy research company has former Obama "green jobs" czar Van Jones listed as an adviser. It also employed Rebuild the Dream, Jones' firm, to do its public relations work.

oney will be distributed to nine companies in four states. Solar Mosaic received the most money, four times the amount of most other grants.

Jones resigned his post in the Obama administration three years ago amid controversy stemming from his past remarks.No real surprise here, it's just another example of the way the Obama administration looks at free enterprise ... through the lens of crony socialism. The problem here is, as with all other Obama "investments," it takes us yet further down the dangerous path Obama has put the country on and risks taxpayer dollars on one of Obama's ideological agendas.

As Dr. Sanity points out, "When you have perfected crony capitalism to the point that the Obama Administration has, you have really instituted perfect crony socialism and are well on your way to national socialism or some other redistributive utopian fantasy:

... when you consider Solyndra, LightSquared and the other cronies who are capitalizing on Obama's ecofanatacism (algae companies are next!); when you consider Government Motors and the large-scale political paybacks to unions; indeed, when you consider how Obama deliberately manipulates business (denouncing it on the one hand, while the other is pocketing the campaign contributions from them) and issues commandments from Mt. Olympus (e.g., Insurance companies will eat the cost of birth control; etc.) then it is very easy to understand why business is "gaming the system" and why developing a cozy relationship with Obama and his band of merry regulators and redistributors is a key aspect of the new, improved business model.
